El artículo está bien escrito pero no tiene como apoyar lo que dice (ni un gráfico, ni tablas, ni referencias). Por lo tanto es difícil saber si lo que dicen tiene sentido. Como sabes, yo pienso que las presiones de los mercados y el desarrollo de la tecnología serán las fuerzas que reducirán las emisiones en el futuro, y el calentamiento global no merece prioridad. Por ejemplo, ya estamos viendo el ascenso inevitable del precio del petróleo, el cual tendrá oscilaciones pero seguirá subiendo (el mecanismo es complejo, el uso de transporte con motores híbridos y eléctricos ayuda a reducir la demanda, pero no la elimina, y mientras tanto el suministro sigue estrangulado porque no encontramos petróleo para producir).
Un tema que me preocupa es que Foreign Policy ha tomado un giro hacia las nubes, últimamente publican todo tipo de locura. Por ejemplo, publicaron un artículo "The only forcé that can beat climate change is the us army" que incluye estos párrafos:

In recent years, all too many conservative Americans have begun to deny climate change not on the basis of evidence or debate but because their cultural allegiance rules it out. “We aren’t the kind of people who believe in climate change.”
This is where the role of the U.S. military is so crucial. It is the one American institution that retains the confidence and respect of the great majority of Americans from both political parties. It is also an institution whose culture depends on a sober and realistic appreciation of threats and which can talk to conservative patriotic Americans with conviction and in a style they can understand. No “citizen of the world” will ever persuade a Republican voter to vote against his or her immediate interests. A U.S. soldier talking about threats to America would have no problem doing so."
En otras palabras, la élite del CFR está utilizando el calentamiento global para vender el militarismo, algo que ya es muy muy preocupante.
