We would like to share with you some information about our latest dissemination activities.
Eurostat released yesterday a new digital publication on energy statistics. This new tool developed by Eurostat is an innovative online publication with interesting information presented in an attractive way to users. This publication replies to the questions of those who are not familiar with the energy sector, but who would like to better understand the challenges the EU policy initiative "Energy Union" is facing.
For more experienced users (like you), the whole energy process – from source to final use – is presented in a very detailed way by linking with the new Eurostat's Sankey diagram tool. This powerful and innovative Sankey tool allows you to visualise the energy balances in a much more illustrative, intuitive and dynamic way.
It has the advantage of being attractive at the same time for the general public (offering simplified overviews, pie charts and easily comprehensible diagrams, etc.), as well as for advanced users (which can navigate into very complete and detailed views, historic time series, etc.). The tool allows you to build and customise your own diagram by playing with different options: change the country, the year, the units, expand or collapse the diagrams, navigate into different fuel families and energy products, etc. You can also share your preferred views via social media.
You can find additional information on the Eurostat website:
We hope these elements increase the visibility of energy statistics and the results of our work. We hope you enjoy them and feel free to advertise them to your colleagues.
